We attended the Chi Clinic
to see Tony Hardiman. We heard about The Chi Clinic through a teacher at R….
primary school when all else failed to fix her shoulder. R….. was at a
swimming party when she fell off an inflatable and injured her shoulder. The
next morning, in pain and very swollen we took her to the Hospital A and E department.
They gave her an X ray and
decided she needed physiotherapy. This was in early December. We attended for
6 weeks during which R….. was unable to write, sleep or move without being in agony.
After 6 weeks of physio she was no better and an urgent appointment was made
to see the surgeon. That urgent appointment was not for yet another 6
weeks.
In despair, I was explaining
to the teachers at the school as her SATS were looming and she still could not write, how long we had waited for this appointment
and it was suggested that I try The Chi Clinic with R…...
I rang that afternoon, we
were now in February, and was given an appointment for that afternoon. We found
the Chi Clinic with ease and were welcomed in and made to feel very comfortable.
Tony asked her what had happened and asked us to sign a consent form to treat R….. He then went ahead and felt
R….. shoulder. She had torn her rotator cuff and it needed to be manipulated
back into place as it would not heal as it was.
Tony worked on her shoulder
and by the time we left, R….. had about 70 % movement back in her arm. We
made another appointment for six days time, by which time her shoulder felt fantastic.
On the second visit R…… need a few ‘tweeks’ and a massage on her shoulder. We asked when she could go back to her swimming and Tony said anytime from then on.
That afternoon R….
went swimming and her shoulder was cured. Soon after that, she entered a swimming
Gala and took a Gold medal.
I can’t tell you how
pleased R….. and I were with the service and results. I have since recommended
the Chi Clinic to many friends and family who all have had great results.

Case notes
This lady presented at the Clinic with her daughter on the16th February 2007.
At that time the daughter was aged 11 years and had been in severe pain since her injury that occurred on the 16th
December 2006.
The injury was to the rotator cuff following a swimming accident when she fell over an inflatable and landed badly
with the arm partially extended and was pulled against the ligaments and the implicit tension of the muscles.
The above report of the events given by the mother is accurate and I found fear, anger, frustration and that no-one
had been able to examine her properly due to the severe pain. I applied a pain
relief point called Hegu on the hand with a metal probe to stimulate the release of natural endorphins. I applied a gentle massage through the clothing to ease the
swollen tissue and acupressure to promote healing of the tissue.
I applied a three point sling to support the injury and the shoulder was rested for 7 days.
On the 22nd February 07 I applied deep massage and soft tissue manipulation to ease the joint and she was
able to return to swimming that day. One week of gentle exercise was suggested
and the girl adhered to the advice.
On the 28th March 07 she returned and I found some strain in the levator scapularis. This was due to having
used the arm fully where it had no real stress or exercise since the onset of pain.
Another few days passed and she was discharged as needing no further treatment.
The use of sensible discussion with the girl directly involved her in her own treatment where hitherto, the only discussion
had been with the Doctors and the mother. This is a critical factor and aids
the placebo effect and assists in all forms of palliative care. By easing the
pain from the first contact, a trust was established that continues today.

I first went to see Tony
in April 2007, with great discomfort in my lower back. I have suffered from a bad back from a very young age and have therefore
tried several therapies, such as Physiotherapy and Osteopathy. Early last year I went for an MRI Scan and was told that one
of my discs was protruding. I was given the options of an epidural to ease the pain, carry on taking painkillers or eventually
have an operation. None of these options seemed satisfactory at the time.
Tony Hardiman was then recommended
to my by a friend. Since visiting the Chi Clinic my back problem has improved immensely. At first my appointments were weekly,
then became fortnightly and finally monthly. After six months there was a significant breakthrough, both with the physical
improvement and the actual line of my spine.
Tony used deep massage and
also heat treatment to alleviate the discomfort and reposition the protruding disc.
I continue to see Tony once
every 2-3 months to assure my well being and to reinforce the good work already done.

CASE NOTES
This lady presented on the 3rd April 07 with severe back pain that had troubled her since her teens i.e.
25 years duration. She had been seen by Doctors, Surgeons and therapists, chiropractors
and other consultants who all told her that the back was incurable without surgery.
She was in a potentially very depressed state of mind and though resigned to the problem, she was dispirited and generally
in a poor state of health.
I found two elevated vertebrae at L2 and L3 with subluxation and possible tissue damage. She had pain in the left thigh and across the lower lumbar area.
She had two children and reported that her father also had a bad back. This
did not indicate necessarily that there was a genetic tendency but was considered as part of the whole diagnosis.
I explained that to get the back into a proper situation would likely take very careful treatment over several months. I applied gentle Bone Setting methods and within 3 weeks the vertebrae slipped easily
into place.
I applied general soft tissue and deep lymphatic drainage methods to the whole body and found the ilio-tibial tract
attachments to be sore and pain in the inguinal area from the ileum tip to the pubis.
I applied remedial massage and muscle stripping to relieve toxins and to stretch the area generally.
Over the next few weeks the treatment was continued and the back has held up well.
On the 11th March 08 she presented having had an accident and sustained some back pain that was alleviated
immediately using a repeated treatment modus. Multifidus was torn and rest suggested
for one week.
Her general condition has improved substantially and she is able to function normally.

‘I picked up my elderly
Mum from a fall and felt a severe wrench in my lower back with severe pain stretching down my right leg to the foot.
After a few sessions, the
Clinic alleviated my severe pain and I was able to walk (even though gingerly) upright and unaided. Whereas at the Hospital, ( I was sent there by my GP,) they were unable to detect anything wrong except
to say that nothing was broken and I was sent home with pain-killers suggesting that whatever it was would heal itself.
The ‘hands on’
manipulation and massage technique has really worked for me and I recommend this form of medicine to everyone.
I am now 90% pain free and
after my next session, I am in no doubt that I shall be back to normal, enjoying a pain free life without resorting to pain
killers.

CASE NOTES
This lady presented on the 13th February 08 in intense pain and unable to walk unaided for more than two
steps. It was clear that she had a slipped disc and multiple muscle injury despite
the hospital having told her that there was nothing that could be done.
I laid her on her side and manipulated the disc into position so that at least, the pain might subside a little. I applied a small amount of lymphatic drainage to the back and legs as there was clear
indication of toxic build up in the tissue due to inactivity.
Lymphoedema was present and limited fibromyalgia. This affected mainly
the legs and her pain was intense. On the second treatment on the 16th
Feb the back had stopped hurting but the pain in the legs had abated only marginally.
I found muscular adhesions and persistence of toxicity.
Clearly, it is potentially risky to drain such areas without precautions and monitoring. Such precautions were taken and on the occasion of her next visit, 25th Feb, deep tissue drainage
was possible. This provided substantial relief and on the subsequent visits,
the procedure was repeated with excellent results.
I found a trapped nerve in the L5 to S1 and was able to release it.
She was discharged on the 29th February 08
A great deal of this condition was exacerbated by the inept and
off hand way that
she felt was shown to her by others who, upon having an X ray was
told there was
nothing wrong yet she still had excruciating pain.

Did you feel that the treatment
was worth the cost. I felt the treatment was money well spent
‘ In 1990 I had
a sporting accident where I impaled my right leg in the groin area and punctured my femoral artery. Over the next 8 years
I had 4 operations to extend my surgical scar so I could maintain full movement in my leg. In 2002 I had an operation
to place a mesh to repair an Inguinal Hernia in my right groin and in 2005 I had to get my Appendix removed.
With all these injuries
and operations in the same area I developed a lot of nerve damage and suffered from Chronic and Acute pain in my right groin
and leg. I could not stand for long periods of time and had to retire from being a Chef, I also lost all motivation to exercise
and I became addicted/ dependant to taking pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs for over 6 years.
On May 2006 after losing
all hope of anything being done to alleviate my pain, a friend recommended I rang the Chi Clinic and have a treatment there.
My session lasted around
1 hour, during which Tony was able to reconnect and switch on my nerves through Chi Healing. With the use of Psychic Surgery
Tony let my mind remember what my leg felt like before the accident. This removed all the trauma I was suffering from.
At the end of the treatment
I felt I had returned to the world of the living, with a great weight lifted off my shoulders, to this day I have not needed
to take any painkillers or anti-inflammatories for my leg. Thank you Tony for this session and the enlightenment of the existence
of Chi.

The treatment was so successful
the next day I went to try the Chi-Do martial art, of which I am now a Orange belt and preparing
for my second grading. I also study Tai Chi and regularly attend workshops held by the Chi Clinic.
My relationship with my family
has improved and I have become very open with them. I feel that the weight of the whole traumatic experience of what I went
through has been lifted off all our shoulders as I didn't realise until recently that it had affected everyone around me.
Comments made by his Mother.
Since attending the Clinic, J....s has had an incredible transformation. His face is now calm and his smile has come back. On a weekly
basis we have seen his strength, mobility and confidence grow. It is a joy to
see him coming back home after classes wanting to share and show us what he has learnt and experienced.
As parents, both D.....d and I have felt very guilty about the accident. D.....d for having built the hurdle to enable J.....s to practice for the schools sports day, me for having
moved it on that day so that I could sunbathe in the garden. Thankfully D....d
was home and his knowledge of first aid saved J.....s life. His brother, P....r,
has also felt guilty as on that he was involved in a 5-aside football tournament which his team won – guilty that he
had been a great day for him and the worst day for his brother. Guilty also that
he had not been there to be with him.
We felt very guilty about the after effects of the accident too. We were told that James mental and physical growth had been set back by about 2 years. We had to watch him being inflicted further suffering as he
underwent various operations. It was very painful for us as parents to see him
in constant pain and be told by doctors/surgeons that nothing more could be done to help him.
Even the strongest painkillers had no more effect. He became very withdrawn.
We felt helpless.
We will be forever grateful to his friend for recommending the Chi Clinic to J.....s, and
to Tony for changing his life.
Seeing the changes in J....s has helped us on the path to recovery. Although deep down my husband still feels responsible, he is amazed and thankful at James’ recovery. For me, the path to recovery was to join the Chi Healing course for Beginners and
weekly Chi Kung classes. I am now on a life changing journey of self discovery
and learning.

Case notes
This was a case where the emotional trauma had not been addressed and the fear that he would be like this for the rest
of his life had inhibited the development of the wound and scar tissue to recovery.
I regressed the patient to the point of injury and remodelled the memory to remove the shock. Immediately, the pain eased and the injury started to heal. Within
a few days the scar tissue had abated and the inguinal muscles and ligaments relaxed to allow full movement of the leg.
No further treatment has been necessary.
The emotional state of the patient is critical to recovery and this had not been addressed in any way.

Re BCMA
I was first diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomelitis in August of 2001 By a physiotherapist
who was a family friend. I went to him for about eight treatments which was basically
a massage.
This helped me for a short time, but he told he could not cure me, as the illness was only
just being found out about.
I also went to St Helier
hospital in Carshalton to see a specialist in Immunology. He put me on a course of antibiotics, they did not work, and he
admitted to me that he really did not know how to treat me. By this time I was
working part time at my job as a postman. This had been agreed by human resources, I could not manage to even do this so I
went permanently sick in Xmas of 2001.
At this time I was also making at least two to three visits to my doctor a week as I was so
ill. I then went to the civil service sanatorium in Kent, which is the Benenden hospital. I
had all sorts of tests done over a week and the diagnosis was M.E. they could not give me any treatment as they did not know enough about the illness. In September of 2002 I was the medically retired.
I then tried various alternative remedies including Accupuncture, Hypnotherapy, Shiatsu. Kinesiology
and aromatherapy They helped a little bit but I kept on lapsing back to being very ill,
By this time it was 2005, and most of my time was spent indoors as I could not move very far. I had lost about three stone and was a shadow of my former self.
I was during a shiatsu massage that the practitioner mentioned to me about Tai Chi helping
M.E. He told me that they did Tai Chi at Mr Hardiman’s clinic. I found the phone number and phoned him up. I was told to come that night and to my surprise I found out that they did Chi Kung on a Thursday. Anyway I decided to stay and try it.
To my surprise after about an half hour I felt
better than I had felt for years after the two hour class I felt really good, and after talking to Mr Hardiman I found out
that he had treated M.E. before. I then left next day to go on holiday and to
my surprise I found that I did not feel that unwell. This lasted for about ten days. I then had another relapse and decided
to go back and have a treatment at his clinic.
The first time I went for and appointment was on the 26th of August 2005, where
I was made to feel at ease and welcome as soon as I walked through the door, I
was then taken through to the treatment room where Mr Hardiman took notes of
my illness, explained the procedures involved in (my case Lymphatic drainage massage.) and also some treatment with crystals.
This took about an hour, after which I was very relaxed and in no pain for the first time in years. After the treatment I could do things like go for a walk without being exhausted, I slept better, I was
in little or no pain, I felt as if I actually had energy for the first time in years.
I subsequently went back for another twelve treatments and in between attended the Chi Kung
classes on a Thursday, a much as possible. I did have what is called a couple
of healing crisis but I was assured by Mr Hardiman that this was part of the healing process and was a good sign rather than
a bad one.
Mr Hardiman also encouraged me to attend his Chi Do martial arts class on a Sunday. Between
doing the Chi Do and the Chi Kung and also the treatment from Mr Hardiman I was cured of M.E. in February 2006.
I must point out that Mr Hardiman’s treatment does not
stop in the treatment room. When I was doing Chi Kung or Chi Do he was always looking after me and other ex patients who attended
these what I would call rehabilitation classes to get us back to normal health.
I am have now been back at full time work for eighteen months I could not have done this without
the support and friendship that Mr Hardiman and his partner Miss V Ahern have shown and continue to show to me to this present
day.
To sum up what I think of the Chi Clinic and its treatments is that it is not a treatment, it is a passion for helping other people to get better and to live their lives to
the full. Done with love and caring and attention to detail of the highest order.
I have been so impressed with the treatment that I have taken two healing courses and a massage
course myself.
I give unreserved permission for the above testimony to be used in a public volume and for
release of the comments by the therapist who treated me and discreet extracts from my clinic case notes to be used in public
with anonymity in the public document.
